The poetical discourse of Cora Coralina is part of a life history that is preserved at the MuseuCasa de Cora Coralina (House of Cora Coralina Museum) – which is her old family’s house, by the shores of the Red River Rio Vermelho, at Cidade de Goiás. The Casa Velha da Ponte (Old House from the Bridge) keeps its memory alive once this ancestral house is daily been visited by many people interested in knowing more about Cora Coralina.
The House of Cora Coralina Association
The Casa de Cora Coralina Association (House of Cora Coralina Association) is a non-profitable private entity. It aims to preserve the memory, the work of Cora Coralina. The museum was opened on 1989 and its purpose is: “to project, to execute, to collaborate and to endorse cultural, artistic, educational and philanthropic activities aiming, above all, to give value to the cultural identity of the people from Goiás, as well as to preserve the memory and to spread Cora Coralina´s work”.
The Museum Collection
The collection from Casa de Cora Coralina was constituted by organized and accumulated objects coming from diverse life times of the poet, forming a general file with images and discourses preserved to evoke Cora, promoting her immortalization. At the museum there are different kinds of materials. It is all organized and accessible to tourists and all the organization is made to preserve the memory of the poet, in a symbiotic way with the community from Goiás. Among the material, there are clothes, photos, domestic tools and books. Inside the house there are pieces of furniture and letters and among the attractions there is also the garden on the back of the house and a nice water-pipe.
